97 S-10 With A/c Problems

Recommended Posts

Ok so I have a 97 S10 with a blower problem. The blower fan works when it wants to. Therefore when it doesnt work I have to turn off the A/C in fear that the compressor will freeze and crack the system causing a leak and more problems.

Has anyone had this problem before? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it decides to stop working and then work again. With the Summer months here I need a fix and hopefully a cheep one. I am thinking a relay gone bad but really dont have a clue and was hoping that someone here has had this problem before.

Thanks

its freezing up because the blower stops working. You wont crack anything or cause a leak when that happens. The rest of your system will be okay. when the fans stops the pressure goes up, Then the pressure cut out switch shuts everything down before any damage happens

anyone think that this is a relay problem? How about the dash switch? Just hoping to find someone here with the same experience.

I have a 2002 S-10 and am having the same problem. It just stops blowing and sometimes not very often. I have to turn off the truck and turn it back on to get it to work again. I dunno what is causing it.

Also At some redlights or turns driving the Air starts turning hot...then after a min or two goes back to the winter blizzard it normally is.....of course I am driving mostly in Texas...
