Has Anyone Ever Lowered There Truck?

I was wondering if anyone here has ever lowered there truck and if so what method did they use and how did it effect the ride?

I dropped my 96 reg cab long bed Silverado2/4 with 2" Bell tech spindles and a DJM Shackle and hanger kit. It handled a lot better and eliminated the gaps in the wheel wells.

I lowered a 99 Extreme with spindles and blocks 2/3 it rode like a lumber wagon and I did a 99 dakota with spindles and shakles and hangers 3/4 still rode like a lumber wagon and it depends how low you want to go as to how much it effects your ride

You can get keys for the torsion bars to lower the front. I was thinking spindles because it wouldn't change the travel in the front end but I don't feel like taking out my lowering gear every winter to put the stocks rims back on.

Lowering methods differ depending on if you have 2 or 4 wheel drive. Drop spindels for 2 wheel and tortion keys if you have 4 wheel for the front. Blocks or leaves for the rear.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to lower a truck! Trucks are meant to have ground clearance and do work, it just makes no sense to lower it.

I have an 04 Tahoe, and have the torsion keys, and rear springs. Just haven't gotten around to installing them yet.
