Xm Upgrade

Ok so here is the deal. I have been trying to add the "factory" GM XM unit to my 06 Sierra CC and have not had much luck in the process. I have not wanted to purchase the GM kit due to cost. I ordered a new box and found a harness and xm unit off of ebay. The harness was cut out of a H3 and I tapped into the power supply to the 12v plug on the center consoul. It is a constant power source so I am thinking that might be a problem.

 

I have a TNR and the XM box that came with the harness shows "XM Theft Lock" on the XM screen, while the new box shows "XM ERROR" and does not show a XM screen.

 

I am about ready to give up here. I took it to my GMC dealer and they wanted 90.00hr to look at it. Heck three hours into it I could buy the upgraded system from GM. Out of sheer frustration I would purchase this upgrade and eat the cost, but I HATE the old style XM antenna. They did not put that on the 06/07 classic trucks. So that leaves me with two XM units a harness and a new body style LAN XM Kit (thinking that they might have a templet for the new antena WRONG) Does anyone have any suggestions for me? How about a harness part number for the correct kit for my truck?
