Sway Bar Upgrade?

ok, i will admit ... i am still getting used to driving a truck ... but so far the handling on it has suprized me .. with only a few quirks .. (mostly bounce from the large side walls, and the rear leaning a bit when i forget to slow down in a turn) ...

 

is there any companies that make upgraded sway bar for my body style? ... or any companies that make a rear sway bar? ...

 

overall, my truck may tow a small trailer once or twice a year ... and at the most .. the bed will be used on and off for half the year carrying office furnature and supplies back and forth during my busy time ... the rest of the year .. ice chest and fishing supplies are about all that the bed will end up with ... (yes lowering it some, is in the future... but waiting another year at least for more choices to come out for the new body style) ...

Not sure what's available for the NBS trucks right now, but I DO know that the swaybar is by far the best $200 mod I've ever done.

 

My SS handles 10 times better with it.

i have lucked out so far checking with the normal sway-bar companies ... several say 'in production' .. but havent found some for sale yet ... so may be another year ...

 

yeah a sway bar upgrade can make a huge difference in handling ... and lowering the rear a bit for better weight transfer onto the rear tires ...

 

not looking for it to ride on rails like the car i got out of ... but being able to hug the turns better instead of the rear leaning and bouncing some would be a lot nicer ...

I thought about a sway bar for my truck but quickly discounted the idea. Reason is I go off roading almost every weekend during the Spring/Summer and from what I've read a sway bar will not allow your suspension to fully articulate. If I never or very rarely went off roading then I probably would already have installed one.

yeah for off road most of my friends have these quick disconnect pins to undo their swaybar linkage ... for better movement ...

 

my extent of offroading .. is pulling into my dirt driveway .. (but boy are those some pot holes)

I was about to order one for my 07 classic and saw this made by Hellwig. They have them for both front and rear, but I don't know how much stiffer the front would be over your stock bar. GOOD LUCK!

You might want to try a lowering kit I just did mine only $55 and it feels alot better in the turns than it did and its cheep ; )

The towing option also adds a larger front bar. Possible OEM replacement?? Lowered mine and still rides smooth and handles much better. Still thinking about rear bar though.
