I want to paint my bowtie black but I cant figure out how to get it off. On my dads 05 HD it just has two bolts, but this one has nothing.

If it's like my '07 Silverado, there are two pinch points on either side. They're a little hard to see...be careful in pinching them inwards so you don't break the plastic. The other possibility is they're attached with double sided tape.

Its pretty simple... just two snaps. I took the grill off to get my bowtie off, but you may not even have to take the grill off.

Thanks guys, I took my grill off and the two plastic snaps were in a little pocket thing and I squezed them and got it off. Now I just have to paint it.

What paint are you going with? What kind of prep work are you doing?

I'm just following what they say on another topic in this section... I think it is called "Best way to paint bowtie" or something like that.

I took my grill off to get to the tabs, and ended up breaking the tabs off, but ill just epoxy it back on. I spray painted mine using fast swipes over the whole thing from 2.5 feet away to give it a professional look, and it took about 5-10 minutes till i was done painting it. It looks REALLY great and looks pretty professional.
