Has Anyone Seen The New Diablosport Predator Ad?

Two things

1) everywhere I have seen/read says E85 is MORE expensive than regular gas. Maybe they are comparing the price to premium due to the fact that E-85 has a higher octane rating than gas if I remember right.

2) While you may have to fill up more, you will be spending half of your fillup going to and from the station. I live in LA and I have NEVER, repeat NEVER seen an E-85 station.

I think there is more to a conversion than just a tune. E-85 is more corrosive than unleaded fuel, Not sure on newer trucks but if the entire fuel delivery system isn't compatible then burning E-85 will likely lead to fuel leaks, or some other problem.

Now I really doubt GM would have 2 entirely different fuel systems for 1 type of truck. So I wouldn't be surprised to find out the only real parts difference is the bright yellow gas cap. Can someone in parts look this up maybe verify the fuel systems or something is truly unique to Flex-fuel trucks?

I know that the fuel injectors in the flex-fuel trucks are rated higher than on the same no-ff engine. I suspect that is the only real difference in the fuel system between the two.

-Fuel lines are unique to resist the corrosive nature of Ethanol

-Bigger injectors

-Software

Probably a few other things that I can't remember right now.

I didn't get a yellow gas cap! Now I am pi$$ed! :shakehead:

I didn't get a yellow cap either, but I did get a Cast Iron Block! Do they make an E-85 compatible engine with the cast iron block, or would the more corrosive e-85 eat up the block over time?

we have one E85 station in LA ... and that's it

i would wager to say, they just up the fuel pressure with the comp programming to compensate for the injectors .. but the add is somewhat sketchy ... it does sound like it converts a non e85 over .. but it may just be a programmer that works for e85 setups...

That ad is pretty deceptive! It says 2007 (Old Body Style), yet the picture is a New Body Style. I think I read somewhere this is for the E-85 compatible engines. I don't think I'd chance trying to run E-85 in my Non-Flex-Fuel engine!

I believe ff vehicles are different than non-ff vehicles in their materials. Because of the corrosive nature of ethanol, ff vehicles have different as tanks and gas lines. The EPA wil not allow at this time any conversion kits fornon ff veicles. DO NOT run e85 in a non ff vehicle. Over time the e85 will corrode the tank and fuel lines.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that ad is deceptive and sketchy. Even if I had a FF capable truck I don't think that I'd use E-85.
