Warranty Work ... Engine Tick

Hello All!

 

I have a question conerning warranty work. Specifically work to rid my 04 Sierra of the tick at idle.

 

I've taken it to the shop several times since I've purchased it. Ended up having the lifters replaced once then the cam, lifters and oil pump. THe tick is still there. I took the truck back to the dealer and they told me that they've been paying attention to other 4.8s and there are some that are louder than mine. I said that I wasn't concerned about those - only mine. Then they tried to tell me that GM could void my warranty due to the dual exhaust that was added be the previous owner.

 

Anyway, I was wondering what you guys think a suitable next step would be. In my opinion they've already admittted a problem by trying to repair it twice. I've heard of warranties being given out but that doesn't take care of the problem.

 

Just looking for advice before I call them tomorrow.
