What do you guys make of this article? This explains why our trucks are kinda dumpy in the acceleration department huh? I did not buy a fat heavy truck to go fast, but it sure does not feel as fast as my old 99 silverado that had 45 LESS hp. What do you guys say?

Its true my friend. The NBS trucks are far slower than the last generation trucks. For $850 you can have a truck that will scream. CIA, Exhaust and a PCM tune and bam, you will have a screamer of a truck available to you.

Funny how when a comment is made in one thread it gets copied and posted as a new thread.

 

A) Those curves start at 4000 RPM

 

B) No torque curves

 

C) 6.0L curve is very very wrong and doesn't match engine dynamics

 

D) Its well known that the 6.0L isn't dynoable in its stock form.

 

 

Go look at the pull tests to see a very very different animal.

 

If you want lot of acceleration and don't care about getting the same fuel milage as your old 99 chevy then get a tune. You may lose some other characterists as well.
