Tire Size

I have a 2004 C1500 that came with the 235/75R16 and I see an factory option was for 255/70R16. Will this wider tire fit my stock rims for the 235/75R16? I want to make this change because their are alot more tire options in this size. And the wider tire will help improve winter traction a bit more.

Actually a wider tire will provide less traction in the snow and rain. A narrower tire is generally better. My moms truck came factory with a 245/75/16 factory tire and they got better traction then her 285/75/16 and they went with an all terrain tread pattern over the passenger truck tread. In my opinion the wider stance looks a lot better, but doesn't help traction. Just my .02

i went to 255/70 from 235/75/16 on my truck 3 years ago. they look a lot better and the michelins have much more traction than the unsafe at any speed when wet goodyears.

but they will fit and seat properly on my wheels?

They would fit fine. There is actually little real difference in size. 20mm width and about the same height... Almost like not going with a different size. In fact, nobody but you would likely notice.

I'll bet the real difference is the tire maker and not the size - traction wise. I'm sure they look better!

No problems. I put 265/75/16's on before I put the 18's on and there were no issues.
