What's This Truck Worth?

I'm looking at a 2000 silverado Z71 ext. cab, 5.3 V8, LT package, leather seats with dual seat heaters, pretty much all the options. It's got 98,000 miles, and in excellent condition. It's dark silver in color. Local chevy dealer has it, and is asking $14,450 for it. That seems high to me, considering it's a 2000. Wanting second opinions guys, what do you think? If you need more details let me know. I haven't seen it in person yet, but may this week.

Here's some pics from the ad:

Probably worth south of 12K depending upon the demand of trucks in your neck of the woods. They're probably listing at KBB retail value which is usually higher than market value. The dealer probably paid 8K for it on a trade in.

Yeah, seriously there are probably a million trucks around especially of that age don't buy for anything close to 14.

I have basically the same truck ('01) with 95,000 miles on it and If I could get $14,000 for it I'd sell it in a heartbeat. I paid $15,400 for it 2 years ago with 55,000 on it.

In Pa, your lookin' at about $10,000 to $11,000.

FWIW,

I just sold/traded my 2000 GMC Sierra SLE with 90K miles on it in March. It did not have leather but was a loaded SLE with full power cloth buckets. Most dealers were willing to give me 9K trade-in. But my dealer offered me 11.5K for it. Although he never got a chance to put it on his lot because my brother bought it as a "dealer pass through" (saved me sales tax and trade-in bonus cash). I am guessing he would have put in on the lot for about 14-15K and sold it for 13K. It was in immaculate condition with not even a scratch.

I'd say 10-12 thousand as well...But more like 10. It's 8 years old.

I'd agree. Dealers like to sell for over retail. They play on the assumption that it is somehow better because it's at a dealership. There are better deals to be had. Might try to wheel and deal with them and see how bad they wanna sell it.

It sure looks good in the pictures!

What's it worth?...

What you're willing to pay for it and the seller is willing to sell it for.

That's harsh man... totally harsh.

Around here those trucks are a dime a dozen. Especially the 2WD. Around here you can buy an 03 for that amount of money. As a matter of fact, one of my neighbors sold an orange one for about 13,000. But if it is what you want the choice is ultimately up to you.

I don't mean to step on toe's, but I wouldn't buy an 03 or newer, don't like the front ends, glads mine 2000, I hope they change the body style before I want a new one or I'll keep this or be driving a different brand(for the 1st time in my life)
