Unplugged Sensor Question?

I installed the K&N super 77 on my 03 Sierra a few days ago. I pulled the neg. terminal like it said to do, installed the kit, hooked the battery back up, but forgot to plug the mass air sensor back in before I cranked the engine. The truck ran rough for 5 seconds first , then ran fine for 5 seconds before I caught it. I killed the engine, plugged the sensor back in, and took off down the road, but now it seems that Ive lost some of my snap in my shifting. I have the wait4me 93 tune and before it would throw your head back every shift! Did my truck go into some kind of "safe-mode" or something when I cranked it without the sensor? If not do you know what might have happened and how to fix it? Thanks!!

You need to get the code cleared out of the system. The Pcm see that there is something wrong with the mass air flow sensor so it bypasses it and uses other sensors to make up for the mass air flow sensor.

Couldn't you just pull the battery cable again let it rest for 5min and re-connect to clear the code? Or let it clear on its own?

It never did set a code, I killed it fast enough! Figured it out, I reset the computer, now she runs even better than before, and I get to re-teach it :shakehead:
