07 Nbs Tune Results

07 silverado v max, crew cab, 6.0, 4;10/ Had the wait4me tune on midgrade fuel 600 miles ago. Installation of the ecm/tcm was simple. It then took about 35 mins to do the re learn and get the truck to start leaving the engine light on. (Crank re learn code and alarm code). Drove it for a week and had the codes re set. Took tech 5 mins to re set all (bought him lunch and a PBA card). I first noticed that the truck would spin the tires for about three feet now which it couldn t before the tune. No low end delay that the new trucks are famous for. Much better throttle response and slightly firmer shifting. Speed limiter which was set at about 96MPH is gone. The engine seems to breather and work with less effort and throttle. Fuel mileage/ this is very hard to compare because we all drive different conditions but 55-60 i can see 20 mpg sometimes/ 70+ anywhere from 17-18 and city I don t even check. Ran two 1/4 mile run on a hot day at 15.7. I have the 4cly/8cly mode on still (the tuner can shut this option down for good) and it took a little getting used to cause the engine runs more efficient and wants to run in the 4 cly mode more frequntly. This may annoy some but it s helping on the mpg and after a while you don t notice it so much. Not much else to say but it was worth the $. I did buy a ecm tuned so I have a spare if anyone has trouble getting a new one and doesn t want to have their truck sit while waiting for your ecm to be shipped back and forth.
