Mirror/onstar Lights Flicker...

Hi all! I have an 03 Silverado 2500HD Diesel and I have a small problem. The truck is equiped with Onstar but it does not work. Not only does OnStar not work but the lights on the mirror (for the onstar buttons) flicker on and off. The autodimming mirror works, the compas and temp display work, but the onstar button does nothing when pressed. No other lights such as dash or radio lights have this problem.

 

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Would a new mirror do the trick or is this something else electrical I need to get checked out?

Not trying to sound funny, but do you have an active subscription to OnStar?

You have to pay them monthly or yearly for that service.

that is definetly an odd problem, but a little tip... onstar need to upgrade all there units from analog to digital, so they probably sent you a letter... costs you $214 and you get a subscription to onstar and the dealer replaces your onstar module with an upgraded one free of cost, all you have to do is sign for the service... so if they replace the module and it still isnt fixed, then they will probably end up diagnosing it for free for you to save there asses...

but i would bet the module is the problem and not the mirror anyways... this offer ends by the end of the year i think, so hurry up if you want it done...
