Keyless Entry For My 07nbs Sierra?

When I bought my Sierra, the pickings were slim when it came to RCSB trucks. I didn't have time to order one since my other truck was sold. There were a bunch of stripped models but very few with options like I wanted. ANYWAY, my 07NBS Sierra RCSB has the 5.3, AT, Power Windows, Power locks, Cruise, DIC, etc. but it didn't come with keyless entry.

My question is:

Can I install factory keyless entry since I already have power locks? I can buy the factory remotes. Can it be programmed or added? The truck has the feature that allows you to unlock one side or both with the key but I sure am spoiled to the remotes on my other vehicles. Anybody know?

Id wait for someone else to chime in, but im pretty sure that all you would have to do is install a module for the keyless entry and it should plug and play since you already have the door locks.

That's what I am hoping is possible. I have a call into my local GM dealer guy but he won't be back until Monday.

Try google searching it. I'm sure someone on another forum has done it. Maybe you could get you answer faster that way than you could waiting for someone on here to chime in or waiting for your dealer.

I have a somewhat off-topic but related question. How hard is it to add power locks? I'm looking at a truck w/o them, and it is nice, but it lacks the one of the two features that is a necessity for me (the other being a/c).

it's not hard to add ... just get some good quality peices ... most shops quote around 250 to install power locks with oem switches in the doors (or dash, etc) on a ride that did not come with them.

i personally, looked for a truck without power locks .. with the thought that i would be adding that and keyless entry later .. i wanted my power lock remote seperate from the key ... (not sure if all the trucks are like that, but after seeing a few keys that had the remote 'built' into the plastic on the key i didnt want to mess with replacing that)

Power locks are not hard to add. Aftermarket power door lock systems are everywhere AND you can use their remotes for keyless entry. I have done enough research on mine to know I can't add aftermarket keyless system to it without screwing up the control module or using some type of interface module that is not available yet (so I am told by several good local car audio joints) That's why I asked this question.

Unfortunately Google has let me down so far.

I believe he already has the powerlocks, but he just wants the keyless entry option. If this mod is anything like me wanting to add Remote Start, then all you should have to do is buy the Remotes (GMPARTSDIRECT.COM) and goto the dealer and they will reflash your computer. From what I gather alot of these options are on all the trucks, you just need the propper equip and get them activated. I could be completley wrong though.

I guess I'll wait and see what my dealer buddy has to say on it. I'd like to make sure before I spend a lot of $$$ for remotes that won't work!

Anybody else have any input?

I am kinda in your shoes also. I also have a NBS Sierra. My Truck has power lock with keyless entry. I would like to add the OEM remote start. I added the DIC and with the DIC there is a option to program new keyless remote. From what I can tell all I should have to do is get the new Key FOB with the remote start button and do the program remote option in the DIC menu and it should work. I also know that my truck (and I think all new trucks) have the remote start option. I would imagine if all new trucks have this they should also have the keyless entry option.

Nobody seems to be able to answer this. My dealership says thay can "TRY" it and see but it will cost me even if it doesn't work. THAT hardly seems like a deal...

No wonder we all call them STEALERSHIPS.

Yip. Mine came with all power accessories (windows, locks, etc) but no keyless entry or fobs.
