Speedometer Correction?

On my 05 1500 5.3 Z-71 I'm changing the gears from a 3.42 to a 4.10 and going from the 265/70/17 tires to 285/70/17 (1" larger in dia). I talked to my local dealer on Tue and was told that they can change the computer (speedometer) for the gear change but not the tire change. Yesterday (Wed) I asked them how much and he said that they can not change it for the gear or tire change??? Is this true?

 

I realize that the tire change is a modification but the gear change is to a ratio that is offered on that truck.

Maybe I asked the question the wrong way so I will try again.

 

Should I be able to get a dealer to change the speedometer for a gear change to a ratio that was offered for my truck from the factory?
