Factory tires. Whatever came standard with model of new truck.

No matter brand. Are they the exact same as ones purchased at tire stores?

have wondered the same thing; had a set of uniroyals on my old 97 that lasted 50K. some say an "oem" tire is a cheaper frade of tire. wel i upgraded last time to dueler at bridge; like the next day after i bought the truck. they were supposed to be better/premium rubber, well 2 of them wore out at 30K; other 2 cupped out bad. should have went with michelin. my new 07 nBS has bridgestone 18 duelers, cant find them on bridgestone web site. will wait and see; just my 2 cents worth

While the model name on the tire is the same as what a store would carry, the OEM tire may have a different tread pattern. Sometimes that depends on the brand of tire. The tread pattern on the OEM Firestone Wilderness AT tires that came on my 99 Silverado Z71 didn't look anything like the Wilderness AT tire that I once saw at the local Firestone store.

Vehicle manufacturers usually work with the tire companies to develop a tread pattern that meets their requirements for noise, traction and handling. Off-the-shelf tires may not be able to meet every requirement.

As long as they are the same model and have the same "TPC" spec rating as the OE tire they are the same.

Of course sometimes the tire manufacturer's change the tires between the time you purchase your truck and the time you go to purchase new tires..Example:The Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693 II tires that came on the '03-'07 Classic Silverado's/Sierra's have been replaced with a new tread design,The Bridgestone Dueler A/T "RHS" is now the replacement for the 693 II's. (There was also a bulletin from GM on these tires due to wear from the 693 II's)
