Finished the lift and added the Pro Comp 315's - What a difference. Waiting for the NFAB Side bars and the Rancho Skid Plate and the Tonno III cover- I will update when the next mods are done.... Let me know what you think so far, be honest and I am totally open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks a bunch.

Color matched handles intrigues me.... The tires really look great in person. I know they arent mudders, but they do have a 50K mile tread guarantee.... Uh Huh!

So where do I find the handles????

I will update and improve on the pics the next round. Believe it or not it was a cloudy day (the only one this year) when I took the pics :sideways:

Whats the Rancho 4"/6" lift I thought you put on a 4inch lift. What size rims are you running? Can you run 10" wide? Do your tires rub at all? Does the lift really lift it 5.4 inches? I deciding between pro-comp 6 inch and rancho 4 inch

I'm curious about the Rancho 4/6 too??

I E-mailed Rancho about the 4 inch lift.  Their reponse was that it was a 4 inch lift but that many gained additional lift by cranking the T-bars.

The Rancho is the 4", but you do get the 5.4"(with torsion adjustment)- but I opted not to crank the torsion bars at all. I wanted to keep the ride as nice as possible. It comes with the 9000's adjustable shocks which are really sweet. I put the 35" tires on it and we only had to trim the edge off of the plastic that wraps around the bottom of the front bumper. I will snap a couple up close pics. The guy who did the install was amazing. Rancho tells you to cut out the fins on the differential housing but we didnt want to lose the integrity/strength so he cut a section off of the A-Arm and welded a piece back on the side to reinforce it. I have the weld rims and I had to put a 1/4" wheel spacer to get the proper back setting. The rim was rubbing just slightly on the torsion bar. He ground the top edge slightly, repainted it and it turned out sweet. He also cut off the metal piece holding the rubber stop using a sawzall as it cleaned up the whole install and the kit included new ones in a different place. (Sorry for not being too technical) I figure with the 4" (whatever) rancho and the 315 procomps I gained about 8.5". Figure this - A standard garage measures 82" in height.... Going from the stock height of 73.8" (Chevy Specs) to a butt hair under 82" would be 8.2" gain.(I can still get it in the garage) It's plenty trust me.... the kids can barely get in it;-) Math= Tires from 30.5-34.7= 4.2" plus the 4" rancho is the 8.2". Best part is that you keep the ride quality and the tires at 35" fill the wheel wells nicely without any rub. According to ProComp http://www.procomptires.com It has a overall width of 12.5" and a tread width of 10.1". I have 16x7 Weld Racing wheels.

Hope that answers some of the questions. I would highly recommend the kit and will snap some close ups of the work that was done on it.

Patrick, the rig is lookin tough!  I love it.  After I take the body lift off of mine, we'll have twins (of sorts)!

Anyway, I want you to take a closeup pic of that Rancho steering stabilizer!  :lookaround:

And, do you happen to know if the steering stabilizer would interfere with the Rancho skidplate?  I want both items, and want to make sure before I buy em!

So, the 35"s don't rub at ALL now with the front bumper trimming?  I like the way it fills the wheel wells, and I am considering upsizing from the 33"s to 35"s.

All in all, bada$$ rig!

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
