I have a 1988 GMC Sierra 3500 series. I am looking for the diagnostic connector. I cannot find it anywhere as I can't even locate the ECM either. The truck has a 350 carburated motor.

Help please. :ughdance:

The ecm should be behind the glove box. Go inside the glove box remove the screws on the side, pop out the glove box door plastic hinges (carefully), then manuever teh glove box out. It will be sitting to the right, big silver thing with two big connector, red and blue i think, anyways you can't miss it.

As for the diagnotic connector (ALDL - Assembly Line Data Link) look under the dashboard on the drivers side, just below the instrument panel and to the left of the center console, by the steering column.

Well I pulled the glove box. Low and behold there is no computer in this truck anywhere behind the dash. I am almost positive that it should have one because it has a check engine light on it.
