Do Anything To Tpms After Rotation?

I took the truck to the dealer for an alignment issue and the said they rotated the tires, I just now though about the TPMS. How can I be sure they reprogrammed the sensors. And does this have to happen everytime I get them rotated? This seems like a pain in the ass!

easy, get a hand held tire pressure gauge and if you have a compressor at the house, fill one with more air (about 5 lbs) and check it with your hand held. then switch over to your DIC and see if the system sees the correct tire over inflated. this has to be done if you want to know which tire is high/low just by using your DIC. Otherwise the system will tell you the wrong tire has the wrong pressure and you are gonna have to hunt for the correct tire (an extra 2 mins but you can do it...) The choice is yours. I choose to let the dealership play with that stuff since they get all of my business. Pain in the ass for whoever gets stuck doing it.

Yes the dealer should have re-programmed it and yes you have to do it every time you rotate. Read the manual it shows you how to do it go into the DIC for relearn tire positions, you let air out of the left front until the horn chirps then it learned that tps then go too the right front etc.

If they don't do it, you'll normally get a message on the DIC. But they do have a nifty handheld tool that does it in a few seconds. I saw them use one at Discount Tire when I had mine rotated last week.

There ya go, not such a PITA after all (unless you wanna do it the owner's manual way)

Thats how I do mine,With the handheld reprogramming tool we got at the dealership,I'm done in less than a minute!
