Window Tint

I'm gonna get my crew cab tinted. I'm looking at the legal amount in the front, I think it's 35% but I"m gonna black out the back window.

What questions do I need to ask the guy so I can be prepared.

Thanks

Tint laws vary by state. They are all different. Any quality tint shop can tell you what is legal in your area. The cheapest tint price will get you the cheapest tint. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

3M tint is really good. like the last post said you get what you pay for. Just ask him what his personal warranty is on the tint and what the manufactures warranty is and were do you go if you have a problem. Any quality shop with take care of you if you have a problem with their tint. Personally if just go limo all the way around. Cops are usually pretty bored to pull someone over for tint. And if so the tickets only $10-$20. depending on the state. But keep in mind it is really hard to drive at night with dark tint. I have to roll my windows down sometimes to see at night.

Just remember that the windows are tinted from the factory, it will have a stamp in the lower right side of the window stating what percentage it is tinted. I think it is 15% from the factory, so you have to fiqure that into the percentage that you plan on adding.

ya but here in NY they use it as a excuse to pull you over for anything, max here is 30% on fronts

35% + the glass 5% will get you 30%, but 20% + glass 5% is like 15%. what ever the combo you need to have 70% of the light get through.

I had a friend the ran 5% limo tint on the fronts of his VR4 and we almost hit a bunch of college chicks cuz he

could not see them. IF you own property and have a lot to loose I wouldnt go over the limit in your state. Because of all these d**n Lawyers

are trying to make a buck. I didn't care when I was young I didn't own much then.

This guy uses Advantage film. He says it doesn't have as much glare to it than 3M,

I've got my truck in tomorrow getting tinted! Max legal in the front, and Max Legal in the back!

I can't wait!

I've told the man that I'd love it if he can make it to where i can't see any lines when the windows are up, and very little when the windows are down. We'll see how good he is.

I got my windows tinted at a specialty tint and graphic shop, 5% all the way around the rear over the stock and 35% on the front (20% or darker on the front in my area and your a cop magnet) But the guy who did it did my last truck and he cuts it so close and even with the window its insane plus a lifetime warranty agains cracking/fading/peeling and for an extra $35 got tint insurance so if I get pulled over for my fronts (illegal in MI to have front tints) they'll remove them then I show the cop then go back and get fresh tints back on

Up here in Canada (or at least Alberta) you are not allowed ANY tint on the front windows. Sucks!

That's pretty strict Jared. That really does suck.

I have 20% on the front sides and 5% on the back over factory tint. Its REAL dark. I'll have to yank the tint on the front two to pass vehicle inspection in 2 years. 35% is max allowed here.

Just had the factory rear door tint metered on my crewcab last week and they measured 21%. It's going in Friday for 20% on the fronts.
