Electric Truck Engine Fan

Has anyone replaced their factory truck engine fan with an electric fan. Was there a true horsepower, torque, and MPG gain? The concept sounds great! If this really does work, I am considering installing one. I would install it in a 2006 Silverado Z71 (5.3L).

Mine sounds like a Zerox copier warming up when it cycles on and off...

2006 1500's have electric cooling fans? I always thought the GM 1500 only came with the electric fans on the 2007 and newer models (GMT900). I could be wrong, maybe I have learned something new, lol.

Yip. My 05 Crewcab was the first GM I had with an electric fan instead of a traditional fan clutch/fan assembly.
