17" Oem Rims

I'm looking at buying these stk rims because to replace the ugly ones that came stock on my 2006. As on now bidding is low, but is $100 per wheel too much? What is the going rate.

I sell OEM wheels for a living. A price of $500 for the set including shipping would be a reasonable deal. I am not near my reference books, but retail at the dealer is near $500/wheel. If you have bolt-on center caps on your existing wheels, your lugnuts are correct for these wheels.

Caveat: Many people sell wheels because one or more have pot-hole bends. Perceived savings may evaporate if repair or replacement of 1 is necessary. Even if seller agrees to refund price if wheels are out-of-round you are looking at $170 for the freight round trip.

I have purchased wheels on ebay and am rarely 100% satisfied. If they are cheap enough though and I only net 3 sellable wheels, that is OK in my case. You however, need all 4.

Think about it.

You can buy those all day for 250.00 a set. I bet you can get that set for that. If not, keep watching Ebay and there will be a set priced at 200 - 250- "buy it now" soon.

Local tire and wheel shops are a good source too.

EDIT: Not knocking you there Hubbycap. There just happens to be a lot of this wheel style out there pretty cheap.

These went for $250.00 = $95.00 shipping on a Buy-It-Now. BTW, I bought my alloys of rattlesnake wheel on ebay. The wheels were almost flawless. A great transaction.

This is sooooo true,I just bought a set of OEM 18" wheels that were supposed to be "New Take-Offs" off of eBay for my '07 to mount my Goodyear's on (That way I was able to keep my factory 18's/Bridgestone's mounted together) two of the wheels were so scratched/beat-up I ended up buying two brand new wheels from GM.

Luckily with me getting them almost at cost they were only around $165.00 each,However I learned a lesson...I'm never buying wheels again without looking at them in person first!!

No knock perceived Zembonez. One can't be an expert on every wheel part-number in existence. Even in a good deal, there is nothing like PERSONALLY picking them up and checking them out before the palm is crossed. I repair wheels frequently for great ebay deals.

Man hubbycap I wish I would have known what you did BEFORE I bought mine,I would of checked with you first to see if you had any.

Like I said.....I learned a lesson,Like you said....Theres nothing like PERSONALLY picking them up and checking them out first.

No knock perceived Zembonez. One can't be an expert on every wheel part-number in existence. Even in a good deal, there is nothing like PERSONALLY picking them up and checking them out before the palm is crossed. I repair wheels frequently for great ebay deals.

Since you sell OEM wheels, you would be a good guy for the group to keep handy just in case one of those sneaky wheel bending episodes comes along...

Thanks for the kind words, I've got a lot of free advice and philosophy but I can't compete with some guy that is just trying to get something for the wheels his wife is nagging him to clear out of the garage.

I've learned a lot about my new truck on this forum and I'm glad that there may be something I can contribute back.

I would assume my center caps are bolt on. These will fit my 2006 wont it? I currently have 6 lug nuts as do these, but they don't come with lug nuts so I need to make sure mine will fit.

These rims are OEM for 2006 so i would imagine they would fit just fine. lets hope so, because I think i'm going to buy them.

Yes,the wheels will work for you and the lug nuts you have have now will also work.

If you are in business you can't be expected to compete with that guy selling out of his garage. It's true that there are some real deals out there but there are also a lot of snakes in the grass. You just have to know when to pull the trigger and when to walk away.

They will fit your truck just fine. I don't have the answer on the center cap question.

Yes,Your center caps "bolt-on" (I.E.They have black plastic lug-nut covers that bolt them onto the lug nuts to secure them to the wheel)

How many years back can one go for a replacement 17" rim?

In other words a 2008 17" Silverado rim, how many model years going back in years will they fit? 6 bolt.

I think the rim design he is looking at was 06 and 07 classic. (not 100% sure of that) Its possible it was around in 05 too. 17 inch wheels are a fairly recent option on GM trucks.

Other style 17s work fine though. Bolt pattern remains the same and several people in here are using the new GMT900 wheels on previous 99-07 GMT800 trucks although there is a little bit of offset difference.
