2005 Colorado Rotor Removal

Can you tell me how to remove the front rotors on my 2005 Colorado? I have the tire, caliper assembly, axle nut, and four screws in the back of the heat shield all off but I still cannot get the rotor/hub assembly off. I've tried a hub puller from the front but it's just grinding out the center of my axle nut and not pulling the assembly off of the spline. Thank you.

Here ya go.

You're welcome BTW.

I have not attempted to remove the knuckle assebly yet but just looking at it leads me to believe your instructions are missing at least one step. The knuckle assembly cannot be removed w/o taking the steering stablizer off or else I'm missing something. Also, I don't see a step for removing the axle nut (36mm nut) so I was wondering if this had to be removed or if the axle shaft comes off with the knuckle assembly. I was going to attempt this tonight or tomorrow night. The whole job has been quite difficult as I am used to the old simple rotor asseblies.

Thanks.

This is the process that GM has published. I've not personally done the brakes on one of these yet. All I can say is take look at it on the truck and if it needs to be removed then remove it. Maybe GM left it out because it would be understood as part of the process. ???

I removed the four bolts that that hold the rotor assembly to the knuckle assembly but the rotor assembly will not budge off of the half shaft. I tried banging it off and using a puller but it just won't budge. There has got to be something missing. I can't believe GM would make it this difficult to replace a rotor.

Thanks for the help.

If anyone has been successful at changing the rotor on a 2005 colorado then please let me know what the secret is.
