Nnbs Silverado Prerunner/light Bars

Recommended Posts

Was thinking of adding one of those prerunner/light bars with two mounted PIAA 520 Ion Crystal Black fog lamps onto my 07 NNBS Silverado. Since I have a 3" Body Lift and 2.5" Front leveling kit, I assume I will have to have some custom brackets fabricated? If so, that shouldn't be a problem. I will probably have it LineX'd too so it matches my NFab bars.

Haven't seen too many options for the NNBS 07's. NFab has one, but they're Prerunner bars look too thin. I was looking for something thicker, but I don't want just a Bull Bar.

So my request is, does anyone have one, seen one, or recommend a brand. I am willing to spend more to get a better product. Thanks guys.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone too.

Big Country makes these - not sure if this is what your talking about.

If you go there and put in 2007 Chevy it will bring up all the options they have - the photos are tiny but if you download the instructions they have big big photos in the PDF on a 2007 Silverado you can zoom in on and see how it looks.

I have this from them - the front grille guard with winch mount built in - it's the only grille guard I could find built in one piece for a new body truck with a winch mount - quality seems pretty good so far. http://www.bigcountryauto.com/item_photo.a...05.jpg&id=6

I wish they offered that 4X Extreme Front guard with a grille guard on top - then it would be perfect as it covers up the corner bumper pieces which are the weak link on the Chevy front end.

Thanks, yeah, I think I am going to end up custom fabricating one to look the way I want it to. There's just to many cheesy lookig ones out there. Unless someone else has seen other ones.

The reason all the new grille guards, pre runner bumpers, bull bars are small and light is the new truck won't handle the weight like the old one would.

I ran this on my old truck.

I went back to ranchand in Houston and they put a front end replacement similar to it with a winchmount on my new truck - even with a 2" front leveling kit it sagged too bad - a lot. So it had to come off for the grille guard winch mount. If we had left it on I would have had to gone back to the stock size tires because the front end was about where it started before the lift. My old 1/2 ton I put the front end on (weighs 180 lbs) and it sagged about 1/2" tops.

The one I have now is just a regular grille guard with a winch on it. It weighs much less than my old front end that had a 4" piece of pipe for a bumper and winch - and it sags much worse.

I think your going to have to build one if you want anything "heavy duty" because I don't think many people are going to offer anything that weighs much because if people don't have a lift it will sag into the tires.....sad but true.

The place I got my winch mount grille guard from after I put it on started telling people only for 3/4 tons now. Sad you can't mount a winch to a 1/2 ton anymore without doing a nosedive.

I hear ya, yeah those are whole bumpers. I'm pretty sure I can fab one that is lightweight yet durable and looks heavy duty. I hate all the grille guards that use that same thin vertical piece of material that is on either end of the horizontal bar. It's so cheesy, thin and lame looking. I'm not thinking of covering my whole bumper just maybe the top half, this will be narrow in height but extend the width of the truck/bumper. Thanks for your insight though, it's much appreciated.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
