Acadia Liftgate

Bought the wife a new AWD Acadia like 6 months ago and moved her down to where I am currently working in Louisiana. Im thinking its the humidity but it seems to cause the liftgate to pop open when the vehicle is first unlocked and then started. As soon as she backs out it unlocks and then chimes. Ive replicated the problem and I have narrowed it to the morning time when its "wet" out. Anyone else having this issue? I havent had a chance to talk to a dealer yet, thought I would ask here first.

This isn't anything I've heard of, but it sounds like the moisture is causing a short in one of the switches, probably the one in the liftgate itself. I would think replacing the switch would take care of it, but with all the electronics in these vehicles now who knows where the problems lies.

I think I read that at http://www.acadiaforum.net/forum/index.php Might want to check that forum out and see what they have on it. We have not had any problems with our 08 Acadia. Just turned over 5k on it. How does your wife like her's?

Thanks, Ill check that out. Wife loves it. We have about 11k on ours. Good safe daily driver for her and my daughter and unborn son. (wishful thinking, its probably another girl, haha) Mileage is a little worse than I'd like but thats the compromise for AWD I guess, and I like that added stability/safety for her. No complaints so far otherwise. About to make it a top to bottom AMSOIL vehicle like the rest of ours, no other mods I can think of that she'll let me do. She hates wheels, and any exhaust Ive ever had she complains about, so it looks like its gonna be a stocker unless I can sneak an FIPK on it.

I would think there would be a good bit of power out of the 3.6L. It sure has the torque. On the Acadia forum there have been some that already put flowmasters on it. Now to see what can be done to program the PCM.
