ye man nothing happened with the thread, what i was going to say was, I was wondering why GM doesn't offer the 6.2 Vortec in there 2500 and 3500 HD's. I love the 6.0 and its a solid engine, but that 6.2 is a beast. So i was wondering if anyone knew why they don't offer these engines in all 1 ton chevy trucks.

It's all about marketing. Introduce a new engine in the premium line of trucks, then make it available to the masses. It's only a matter of time, plus the 6.2/6L80 combo is required to keep ahead of the competition.

I don't see the 6.2 ever making it in to the 2500s. Especially not with the 4.5L Duramax diesel coming down the chute. I have been wrong before though (once or twice) ;-)
