Rain X Washer Fluid

Does anybody think there are any reasons not to use the Rain X fluid with the heated washer fluid resevoir? I think when in use the fluid gets heated up to 160-180* and am just not sure if Rain X has any different stuff in it that might not be a good idea to use.

I wouldn't use it at all...I just don't like the stuff. I find it leaves a hazy film on my window.

 

I cant see anything happening to it if heated though...regular fluid is full of alcohol, and that would be the thing thats going to explode or whatever.

It's a very diluted mixture. More marketing than RainX. I see no problem using it in your heated system.

perfectly fine to use.

 

It contains about 35-40% methanol. The rest is water and silicone derivitives. FYI, the DOT consideres anything over 50/50% methanol to water concentration hazardous. Even then, you would be hard pressed to make it flash.

 

One Gallon of the "blue" stuff and two bottles of "Heat" make a mixture close to 50/50 meth and water.

Alright thats what I thought. I like using the stuff cuase then you really never need to rain x your winsheild just spray it on and let the wipers do the work.
