2007 Silverado Steering Wheel Emblem

Does anybody know how I can get a new steering wheel emblem for my 2007 Silverado? I would like to replace my scratched up one with a new one, but can't seem to find a part number or alternative aftermarket substitute. I am hoping it is not solely sold with the entire airbag unit. Any help?

I had to have this emblem replaced about two weeks after buying the truck. If you push on the emblem too hard, it will cave in. The dealer replaced it for free since the truck was so new. I remember him telling me that the emblem was not sold separately, but instead was part of the airbag cover or module. I'm sure it wasn't cheap.

That's exactly what happened to me, and I made it worse trying to fix it. I've only had the truck for a couple of months, so I'll give that a try.

 

The response I got from gmpartshouse.com was, "Unfortunately the only way to replace the emblem is to purchase a new airbag assembly. Even if you found an emblem, I don’t have any idea how you could physically replace it due to its configuration."

 

Since the airbag unit is exactly the same for Chevy and GMC, you know somebody has those emblems, but I am sure Chevy would rather you buy the whole thing from them!
