2nd Gear "only" Trans Slip 4l65e

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just recently noticed a slip in the tranny in 2 gear only....slips for a couple of seconds then catches. This is only once I am already going and give it PART throttle. If I take off from a dead stop and run first of to redline and stay in it slams into 2nd hard like it always has with NO slip...?? Again this is the only gear it happens in and DOES NOT do it unless I have just shifted into second cruising slow and get into the throttle some.

The trans is built with high end hard parts along with a zpak set of clutches.

I am thinking maybe the pressure regulator for 2nd is going out..???

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance

i had the same problem with my 04 silverado 1500...granted the tranny was a 60 not a 65...but i had the same problem. anyway once i got my truck tuned it went away completely and never slips anymore(knock on wood) it would only happen when I was going slow in traffic or going slow from a stoplight.

Mine does this all the time bro. Learn to live with it because GM won't do s**t.

Of course not, it is built. Did you read all of his post? Would you really expect GM to warranty a Tranny that has been modified? If you have issues with yours, I would expect GM to back it up, and I bet they would, at least my dealer would. Maybe you need to find another dealer or contact local GM rep?

In the 80k miles I have had this truck it has never done this, even when the tranny had servos only and wasn't built.

This isn't a normal condition and like vmax said I am waaay past dealing with GM.... lol.

I am leaning towards a couple of things:

boost valve and/or 2nd gear band..??? BUT don't know obviously :rollin:
