How Would I Go About Swapping My Stock Radio For A Stock Radio/cd Play

Is it possible for me to have my stock radio on my 2007 Silverado get worked on to put the stock CD player into it? Or would I have to have the whole radio replaced with one that already had the CD player with it?

Also, who would do this work? My dealer I suppose?

Thanks in advance.

replace the whole radio and your new radio (doesn't matter where you get it) will have to be reprogrammed at the dealership...

I upgraded from a factory AM/FM radio to the big baller factory CD/DVD/AM/FM/XM unit. Be careful, as my dealer stated they could not reprogram all my functions. I lost the door chimes, and turn signal chime indicators. I'm ok with it, but still not so sure the dealer just couldn't figure out the right programming solution.

Everything on the dash, pretty much pops right off, and is just unplug, and replug. These new radios "learn" the last few digits of the VIN from the truck. Older models had some button sequence to make a new radio work, these require you to take it to the dealer, and they reflash to the radio to accept your trucks VIN.
