H11 Bulbs

A guy on here, Daddy, has the PIAA Extreme White H11 bulbs on his truck. Look at this webpage of his that details a foglight mod, and there are pictures of his truck with the front PIAAs on.

I ordered mine last night and am supposed to pick them up today. Already asked him how he liked the Extreme White H11s this morning, because if they suck I don't want to waste the $71 I'll be spending on them.

anyone try the piaa h11? any comments on them thanks

I have not tried them but from what I have read on here they suck. I am going to install some no name bulbs in my truck tonight I hope. It is hard to find H11 bulbs right because they are a new bulb type.

I haven't tried the PIAAs but I did put Luminics Ultra White H11s in my truck. I have only had them for about a month but I am happy with them. I also did the foglight mod and put the Luminics Ultra White 9005s there. They were less than $30 a pair and they were delivered in two days both times from www.automotivelightingusa.com. No problems so far.

I have them and have had them for over a year now. Love them, would buy another pair. I am not sure why people don't like them, if they don't. They are pricey but they are excellent. I had them in my G35 and V-Rod as well so I have had some decent experience with them.

Also went with Luminics. Great for the price. E-bay has a crap load of listings for h11 bulbs. Just don't go to cheep because the watt and heat differience can be an issue.

I had the PIAA Super Whites in my '04 Silverado. When I traded it in I took out those out and put the stockers back in. Well, lo and behold, in the '07's they changed from a 9006 bulb to an H11 bulb. I had Silverstars in my highbeams and was able to reuse those. But going from the PIAAs to the stock bulbs in the new truck sucked. It turns out that nobody had anything other stock bulbs for H11s, so I put in a set of HIDs which were roughly the twice the price of the PIAAs which will probably last only a little longer than a year, like the Silverstars. But the HIDs are supposed to last 5 times as long as the halogens - so, we'll see what happens here.

Oh yeah, the HIDs blow away everything that is wanna-be HID.

The worst part of changing the bulbs is getting to the back of the headlights.

I have them and love them. I'm also a fan of Silverstar Ultra's. Both are great lights. I like the Piaa's because when you look into the headlights at an angle when they are on, there is a blue glow on the reflector. Looks great.....

They really light up the road.....

Hey Josh when you did the fog light mod with the Luminics 9005's did you use lights with the 90 deg bend or are they straight? I'm about to do the "Daddy" fog mod on mine and was wondering if the 90 deg bend type would work....I have a bunch of them......LOL

I just ordered some of the straight type of Silverstars 9005xs to be sure.....

Thanks....

I'm going to get the PIAA H11 from a reputable dealer in NY, They ship UPS...I might not see them till next year. I changed out the high beams to silverstar, I wish they had H11. I had no problem getting to the back of the light. Then again i weigh 135 and my arm is smaller than the circumfrence of a coke can :)
