Anyone have anything good or bad to say about ProComp ES9000 shocks? I'm looking to put them on a 98 2wd stock height. I realize they are mainly for off-road, but they have 2wd part numbers. I'm looking for better handling than stock shocks give. A stiffer ride as well to get rid of the boat-ish feeling my old truck has.

I actually put them on a 2WD 2000 Trooper that I once owned. It had the same issues, along with the roll-over possibilities. Overall I guess they helped eliminate or reduce most of the issues. I just remember feeling every little bump in the road as well. (Still not sure if that is the trade off with all stiffer shocks.) I remember the cost was great as well, relatively cheap. I also remember considering there next "lesser" shock, (maybe the ES6000) probably would have worked out better for me.

 

I will probably try something different with my 2WD 2005 Crew, either KYB or the Edlebrocks. I am still researching as well and do not want to break the bank.

 

One more thing, If you 98 has the original shocks on it, anything will be an improvement. I think every make claims to imrove over stock.......

I replaced the stock shocks on a 97 Tahoe with Gabriel and there was no difference. I can't remember what model the Gabriel shocks were. And they're not stock on the 98, but they are at least 5 yrs old. Thanks for the insight!!
