Just recieved my new billet chevy emblem from gearjamminaccesoires. How does the front grille come off on a 07 NBS Silverado? How many bolts hold it on and where are they located. Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly: First, you have to remove the 8 Christmas tree type fastners that secure the piece of black plastic above the grill. Then, you will see 4 10mm bolts which secure the grill. After that you'll need to figure out a way to "unsnap" the grill from it's "bracket." I used some vise grips and some pliers, and then was eventually able to wiggle it outward.

Is it necessary to remove the grill in order to replace the bowtie? I wouldn't think so, but never done it before. Can't you just get a wrench behind it?

The bowtie is held on by two clips. You can get your hand behind the bowtie by going where the hook latch is is. If you look in the hole where the hood latch is, you can see the two clips.... Removing the grill isn't nessasary.

Tape off the bumper before you do this. The grille will scratch it if you're not careful. Needlenose pliers work well for the clips that hold the grille on. I've had mine off so many times, I can do it in less than ten minutes now. Its really not difficult. Try anything with the bumper though and that's another story.
