2001 Tahoe Hvac Question

I have a 2001 Tahoe with 123,450 on it and the HVAC quit working like it is supposed to. The heat and a/c still work but they only blow through the dash vents. The defroster does not work even if the dial is set to defrost. The heat doesn't blow at my feet either, despite the dial being on the floor location. I took the dash apart yesterday afternoon and everything looked OK. It is all electronic with a bunch of wires and it is a one piece, plug and play unit. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it won't blow heat where the dial says it is supposed to? Am I doomed to go and buy another unit? Or, do I just live with the heat blowing on me from the dash vents and let my feet be cold. I live in Georgia so the cold isn't as bad as if I lived up North but it is annoying none the less.

 

Any ideas??????

FIRST, you need to write back in 6.7 miles so your odometer reads 123,456.7

 

I would check actuator motor operation on the HVAC housing. Maybe a connection has come loose or it is a part failure there. Worth a look. It's possible that the control is bad but my money would be on the other end if I were betting.

 

Maybe somebody else will jump in here and give you a better answer.
