2000 Ecsb 4x4 Brakes

Hi all, I need new brake rotors/pads for my 2000 ECSB Silverado 4x4. I called the dealer and they wanted $148.06 each rotor. Im thinking I can get them cheaper elsewhere. I was quoted $120 each from summit racing for the slotted (not drilled). If I go with these what kind of pads should I get, The dealer wants $139 for the set of pads. I don't tow or race....I am anal about my truck and just want a great set of brakes!

Thanks in advance..Bob

Some here seem to like EBC bake pads. Summitt sells them. I have always had good luck with the premium pads from Autozone or Advance auto. Bendix is a good pad too. I think the factory GM pads are Bendix. The good thing about the factory pads is you get all the shims and stuff with them. Most aftermarket pads you don't. I have never tried the slotted rotors, so not sure about them.

I have a 2000 Silverado and when it comes time to change the pads, I may go with OEM. I know they cost more, but I have 117,000 miles on my original front brakes so far. Plus they're quiet and don't dust everything up.

Well, I decided to go with slotted rotors and powerstop Z26 brake pads. I got the the 2 front rotors and pads for $140 off of ebay. I'll keep you guys posted on the results as they should be here by Wednesday and installed by Saturday.

Agreed, the OEM pads are good, but I cant see spending $135 at the dealer for the front set.
