I'm looking to install an aux input module to my factory stereo (2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD ext cab).

Does anyone know of a site or guide somewhere (photos would help) that shows you how to remove the stereo. - Do you remove the trim around the stereo itself or the entire dash trim unit?

I don't want to force anything that's not supposed to come off for fear that I may break something.

Any help would be appreciated

I do not know what an aux input module is,but what ever, apply the park brake, turn key to run,put shifter to low 1,ok,then grasp the edge of the cluster trim on top left side above the vent and pull toward you ,work your way over to the right side, once it all loose, pull the top toward you and clear the dash pad,it is tight and hazard switch will get turned on,do not deviate from this ,it goes back in opposite from removal, mind the alignment tabs ,remove the screws for the radio,if you cannot unplug the antenna ,remove the HVAC control head under the radio, the radio can then tilt down slightly to access the antenna, trust me I am a gm tech and replaced a thousand clusters & radios, what is an aux input module?

Maybe module was the wrong word.

Because I want to connect my GPS directly to my stereo - and because I do not have an auxiliary input on the stereo to be able to connect the GPS and the stereo via an rca cable - I need to add this device (module?) to the back of my stereo (cd changer connection) in order to do what I want to do - that way GPS voice instructions and mp3s will play through the stereo without having to use a lousy fm transmitter (I understand the one on the GPS sucks - causes hissing sounds).

This is the device :
