Suspension Lift

I am on the hunt for a lift for my "new" 2001 2500HD 6.0L.

 

Please vote and share your thoughts on your own lift or if you could do it all over again which lift you would choose.

I was a Rancho guy until I pulled up besides a fellow GMT-800 lifted with the Rancho 6 inch lift and my truck only sat about 2 inches lower than his and I have no lift. I love the quality of their products, I am running their shocks right now. But I'd either go Rancho or Pro Comp.

I've had FabTech suspension on two trucks now and I have never had a single issue with them. Even the alignment settings remained rock solid on my 01 after about 5 years of use... Excellent quality stuff in my opinion.

I had two trucks with Rancho lifts, one was torsion bars and one was coil springs, both worked well. Now I have an 08 1500 with a Pro Comp lift that works great with the new GMT-900 coil over shock. I would recommend Rancho or Pro Comp since I used both lifts.

It's hard to choose one but IMO I beleive that CST, Fabtech, and Procomp produce the best lifts

I just had the 6" procomp bracket lift installed on my 05 2500hd over the holidays. It measures exactly 6"s higher than stock and my cv's angles are good. I can probably still crank by t-bars 1 - 1.5 inches and still have good cv angles, the ride does not seem to be any different than before.

I voted other. I am running the Cognito 7-9 with 35's. If I had to choose from your list I would say CST. I prefer Cognito though. You get the best of both worlds with a full drop and knuckle lift in one kit.

I'm from the Jeep world, and I do a lot of work with suspensions. While I would not recommend them for Jeeps, Fabtech makes very nice suspensions for your truck.

 

If you don't mind waiting, I think that ARB is developing a suspension system for trucks now.

If I had to do it over again I would go with BDS or fabtech....as of recent I am removing my rough country lift and putting her back to stock susp. for now. The upper ball joints were garbage and the new ones they sent me were junk as well....the zerk fitting was already stripped out and the bolts that go through the ball joint connecting it to the control arm were too short and only grabbed a couple of threads on the nut. Needless to say I was done with d%$king around with this crap. I think a little more R&D would have gone a long way. At least they are giving me a full refund which was nice of them and thats that.
