Headlight Adjustments On Nbs!

How do you adjust the headlights so that they are not blinding on-coming traffic? I put a leveling kit on my '07 NBS a few months back and now I get flashed everytime I pass a car. Please help!

I wouldnt be complaining if more people were flashing me :) The way ive seen it done is with a big huge peice of paper with numbers and measurements. I can phne up one of the mechanics where i used to work and get a more detailed description. Though personally id just flash em back to show my dims were on.

Open your hood and look for the phillips head adjusters on the top of the headlights. They will be white plastic and located just in front of the rubber hood bumps and just to the rear of the plastic cowl covering the grille area. I used a brick wall, a level, and the brick line for adjustment. I turned a couple of turns and compared the light pattern on the road to my car's. I then drove the truck and waited for oncoming flashes. Once the driver's stopped flashing me I left mine alone, but mine are still adjusted out a little further than stock. Not the best method but it worked.

Just use Kevin's way of doing it and lower the beam on the wall how ever much you lifted the front end.

You're done. :)

I had to adjust my headlights after the leveling kit, especially since I have HID bulbs. The Phillips screw head will adjust, the legal alignment is that when the vehicle is 25 feet from the wall the top of the beam should be 2 inches lower than the height of the center of the bulb. Basically the beam should drop 2" per 25 ft.

Very informative. :) Always was a mysterious thing to me. I had never seen it described so understandably. Thanks.

Edit: After posting, I reread and thought for 2" drop/25ft, shouldn't the middle of the beam be 2" lower than the center of the bulb?

Appreciate the info guys! I'll try to fix it this weekend.

Actually ni. The top of the beam is supposed to be 2" lower than than the middle of the bulb. But the NBS produce a very flat beam so the top of the beam.

Pardon me, incomplete sentence, the "but" threw me on this one. Is the NBS's beam top supposed to be 2" lower than the bulb center or is it different? :M16:

Sorry I was supposed to put because. Since the beam is so flat it is hard to find the center of the beam. Using the top of the beam will make sure that it is legal, and trust me still allows for visibility far down the road. So 2" drop per 25' using center of bulb and top of beam. Sorry for any confusion.

Not a problem Matthew. Thanks for the clarification. I dropped my bed 2" and though I've lowered my headlight aim, I haven't felt real confident that I've got it correct. This gives me a standard to check against.

I haven't adjusted mine since the level yet. I don't get flashed but I did notice that the lights bother the left lane bandits ALOT!!! So I might not adjust them. On previous vehicles that needed adjustement I used the 2" drop at 25ft formula to adjust.
