I have a 2000 gmc g2500 5.7 cargo van. The van wont start but has spark and fuel ! I have been cranking it since 8am and the engine wont fire at all. I tried to get it to fire by spraying starting fluid in the air intake and nothing happened at all. With starting fluid i would at least hear some sort of firing but i get nothing. I replace the coil and control mod and still nothing. Does anyone have aby ideas of what could be the issue. Thank you very much !!!!

I just noticed that i have a code 1351 its a preliminary code, did not set the light.

Also i noticed that the spark is more orange than blue or white.

Hey, when was the last time you looked at/or changed spark plugs? Those things can oil up bad and won't work. Happened on my 2006 silvy last summer!

Check your cap and rotor to see if they are corroded. Also if you could get a fuel pressure reading.

Just came to me. I had one like this a couple of weeks ago and it turned out to be the dist shaft was broken causing the rotor not to spin. Easy way to check is to take the dist cap off and see if you can turn the rotor if you can turn the rotor while the dist is still in the motor your shaft is cracked. good luck

the rotor spins. the weak orange spark is coming from the coil. i replaced the coil and the ign mod.

Dude are you posting 1\3 of your problem on different threads because that's going to get you 1\3 of the answer you need. You need to compile all that you did and all you found and repost in one place otherwise we can't really help.

I didnt mean to make a mess with the posts. Is there a way i can combine them so i can close the treads on the other 2 ? Everything i have done on the vechicle was done before the post and nothing worked. I think it is in the wiring.

I don't know if there is a way to combine the posts. Try to make one new big post with everything you know, vehicle, engine, problem, codes and anything you did or noticed. There is no way to close a post here (I don't think, mods can lock them but they don't for this). Just start over so were not chacing threads all over.

note "It's in the wiring" There is almost as much wire as metal on a modern vehicle that doesn't make it easy.

If you repost with everything you know in one post it can help.
