Monotube Or Twintube

What shock design is better monotube or twintube. Gas or fluid? And why?

Depends on the application, and what you are looking for performance wise.

I have always had the preception that if a monotube shock gets dented on the outside then it is automatically dented on the inside which would render the thing useless. Does anyone know for sure? The shocks on my truck get hammered by the flying gravel & small rocks on the country roads I drive on and are full of dents.

I put twintube gas on my truck and they are great. Of course this is compared to the stock shocks so anything would be an upgrade.

So a twintube shock has like 2 layers? That would be more durable then a monotube. But what about gas or fluid?
