Z60 Sport Suspension - High Performance

I posted this in question in the sport suspension forum and it was suggested that I post this where there is more "eye" traffic.

I have the Z60 Sport Suspension on my 07 Silverado. In the past I had the Z71 on my trucks. I wanted the 20" wheels so I had to get the Z60. So today I'm just surfing around and the question hits me - what exactly does the Z60 Sport Suspension consist of? How does this compare to the stock suspension of a regular LTZ and to the Z71. I have been searching the net and this forum and the most info I can find is that it includes a larger front stabilizer bar.

Inquiring minds want to know - or at least I do.

Thanks

Found this online, not sure if it answers your question or not though. I assume the shocks are different and maybe the springs?

The ride-oriented Z85 suspension is compliant and fairly comfortable, with less reverberation over bumps than in most pickups. The optional Z60 suspension includes 20-inch tires (vs. standard 17s) and is stiffer in all situations. Firmer still is the off-road-ready Z71, which exhibits much choppiness on road over pavement cracks and washboard surfaces.

I'm in the same boat. I have always had the Z71 package, but I wanted the 20's, so I had to get the Z60. After taking several 1000+ mile trips, I am glad I have the softer suspension. Unless you are constantly off road, I would not want the stiffer ride. Just my .02 :)

This is the best that I have found for describing the Z60 Sport High Performance Suspension:

There are also five suspension systems to choose from, enabling you to select a package that answers your specific demands. The suspension system choices are:

Z83 Solid Smooth Ride suspension with 46 mm monotube front and 35 mm twin-tube rear shock absorbers and a 32 mm diameter front stabilizer bar

Z85 Heavy-duty Handling / Trailering suspension with increased capacity 46 mm gas-charged monotube shocks front and rear and a 34 mm diameter front stabilizer bar

Z60 High Performance suspension utilizes 46 mm monotube shocks with a heavy-duty front stabilizer bar and provides a lowered ride height

Z71 Off-Road suspension combines 46 mm monotube shock absorbers, off-road jounce bumpers, 34 mm diameter stabilizer bar, a high capacity air cleaner, skid plates plus a locking rear differential and recovery hooks, if not already included

VortecMAX Towing and Performance Package with 46 mm monotube front and rear shocks with higher capacity rear springs

I got this from this site: GM Truck Owner Network
