2002 Silverado Instrument Cluster Options

Well, I did it, bought a used cluster with a trans temp guage for my truck. My truck is a 2002 4X4 manual transfer case, Reg Cab 1500. I saw an article on putting blue lights in the cluster and may try that, but what else? I have a base truck, manual windows and manual locks, oh 5.3 auto V8.

 

So, what else might I get checked or have done before I put the cluster in the truck. The miles don't match - not even close so I guess I will go ask the dealer to get that part done.

 

Any other recommendations as what is worth doing now. I have the 3.73 gears. Does the cluster care or does the MPH info come into the cluster from the computer?

It may be easier to put blue window tint behind the part you want blue and is the cluster from a 2002

I doubt your local dealer is going to be able to change the mileage....find a speedo shop if you want it corrected.

The cluster is a 2001, I understand those couple of years are the same - the clusters should work - right?

Yeah the cluster should work fine but your local dealer isn't going to be able to change the mileage for you.

Mike, e-mail Carl at the address on his website provided. I have a 2003, (I know different technologies), but he might be able to help you. He rebuilt my dash after the speedo failed, then added the trans temp gauge. If it can be done Carl will know.

Carl did my speedo when it died and let me swap with an Escalade cluster with trans temp gauge while he was at it. It looks great, works great, and everyone compliments it when they sit in the driver's seat. Carl is easy to work with and knows his s**t.
