Horn Problem

I have a 2003 2500HD 6.0 Regular Cab with 105k miles. It's a great truck, but just recently started beeping the horn on its own. It only happens when you turn the wheel, when parking (all the way one way, then all the way the other). And when the horn blows, you can stop it by beating on the horn button on the wheel (and yes, I've gotten a number of dirty looks). I pulled the fuse to temporarily fix the problem, and I'm guessing it's a frayed wire in the column somewhere.

 

So my questions - is this something that might be easily fixed, or should I leave it for the dealer? How do you remove the horn button from the steering wheel or get access to the horn wire in the column?
