As some of you may know, it's the beginning of the Mardi Gras season in New Orleans. I am working security for a bar on Bourbon street as a second job. I and very fortunate to be friends with the police officers who patrol that part of bourbon as well as the street where I park and they take car of my truck while im at work. Well needless to say, I am very fortunate to have the law enforcement friends that i do, or I would've been very screwed. Around 5:30am when I left work I found out that a Limo bus driver decided to put his rear bumper into my truck. One of my buddies was sittin on the back of his truck directly behind mine and saw it all go down. They cited to guy for wreckless operation, and the company is going to fix my truck, but I still think I'm pretty lucky as it could've easily been a hit and run. Oh well just thought I would share. It's been along couple of days.

wow that blows! like u said it could of been a lot worse! coming across damage done to ur truck imo is a lot worse then witnessing the accident first hand. the parking at my apartments sucks, the spaces are so small. the first thing before leaving, I always look at my door to see if some *hole dinged my door with theirs. if the paint and damage matches you better believe they ganna pay. lucky there is ahandicap spot right outiside my apartment with one of those handicapped unload areas with the white painted parking spot. I always part to the right of that to help prevent damages like that. also its always a good idea to find a parking spot next to a new car/truck with a owner who cares about their ride as much as you do..

If the operation was WRECKLESS, then how come your truck got WRECKED?

Sorry about your truck though. I really hate to see this happen to anybody. There are a lot of reckless drivers out there.

Too bad the door got wrecked. They could have just replaced the fender and been done.

I just don't get why people do that. In Canada, Legally, your suppose to wait until the owner of the vehicle comes out or you've contacted the police. If you hit and Run a vehicle you could be charged with "leaving the scene of an accident"

Well, at least nobody was hurt and your truck can be fixed. Regardless it still sucks. Glad your truck is getting fixed.

yep lucky is the word. I know how frustrating it is when someone hits your vehicle and drives off...it happened a few years ago to my other truck. Got some estimates today about 2K worth of damage. Gonna get a rental tomorrow and drop the truck off...should get her back in a week or so.

I've learned a few things at work the last few years- no one wants to be wrong, no one wants to be embarrassed, and no one wants to accept responsibility for their actions. That said, we see hitskips at work every day. Most of them end up having nothing to go on. So you're very fortunate. I hope they take care of you with the repair.
