Gmpp Intake Filter

the kit comes with a paper filter, that you can replace when it gets dirty. not an oiled type filter like the k&n kit.

Are there any other manufacturers for the element?

Good info Vmax, mine will be here Friday, and this was a good question...not a big fan of oiled filters, the K&N made a mess of my MAF on my 7.4 years ago, and I know how to oil them  Anyhow, I am glad somebody asked about this, I was wondering if there was a superior element. I really like the looks of the Outlaw, but Butch at Wester's says Outlaw is dead

So, the cone filter that comes with the Gmpp intake kit is a paper cone filter that is not reusable. I thought that read on Gm parts direct that the replacement filter is almost $50.US. I was looking for a cleanable system that uses no oil.

That makes me wonder if it is not worth going with the True Flow system.

Any thoughts?

do you have an air compressor? i wonder if an air hose will clean it enough so that it can be re-used? i agree tho, 50-60 bucks for a filter isnt too good. then again, you only need to replace them every 40-50k right?

I was unaware of reusable/cleanable elements that have no oil. The True Flow is this way? I will check it out...

Yea, if I am reading it correctly. Let me know what you think. They have two systems.

Paul58 posted this in another thread:

"And, for anyone who is interested, AEM does make a replacement DryFlow filter that will fit! I took some measurements of the stock filter and the AEM Part Number 21-2059DK should fit perfect!"

I found it doing a search on AEM and filter. The thread was back in Sept. I think I will be getting an AEM filter when my GMPP CAI filter gets dirty.

 the AEM filter core is the way to go. I have mixed feelings about that new Volant filter. I want to wait and hear some reviews about it before I'm the ginny pig
