'04 Z71 In Body Shop...

So, I put my Silvy in the body shop a week ago, today, to fix some front fender and hood damage due to a mishap that I'd rather not discuss. The estimated repair time is a week and a half and I have to have a truck for work, so I get with Enterprise and pick up the only truck they have on their lot... an '07 Dodge. At first, I was semi-excited that I would get to drive something completely different for a week or so. It took me about 5 miles to ask myself why in the would would anyone buy one of these pieces of crap. The thing burns gas like I've never seen before, the handling absolutely sucks and the 2 wheel drive crew cab that I'm in rides about twice as rough as my 4x4 with cranked torsion bars. Not to mention, I can't stand the interior.

All I can say is, I can't wait to get my truck back!

lol...similar story here too.

I had to rent a car to take to South Texas for work reasons. Went to Enterprise and found out they only carried Chrysler products at this location. So, I asked for the biggest SUV, thinking it would probably be a Durango. Well they acted like they were doing me a favor by saying they had just gotten in a new fleet of (gasp  ) Chrysler Aspens. Basically that is the "luxury" version of the Durango. Let me tell you, those things are horrible. The road noise inside was horrible, the interior looked cheap, mileage sucked (my NBS Z71 got the same mileage) and not to mention was ugly as can be. I almost felt embarrassed to even drive it. Thankfully, it had that little "e" sticker on the back to show it was a rental car. :nono:

The really funny thing about your post, is that I've also actively thought of the "e" sticker on the back of the truck as my saving grace. I'm almost embarassed to be in this piece.

Better than my luck renting. Last three rentals were Hyundai, Kia & Nissan. The Nissan Xterra wasn't TOO bad, but it was flaming yellow! The Azera sucked gas faster than my conversion van, and the Kia made it 1/2 an hour from the airport. Broken AC on a new car in Florida, what were THEY thinking. They swapped it for a Dodge Caravan, at least it had air! If Hertz didn't give me frequent flyer miles, I'd be flying somewhere else to rent a car!
