4x4 Indicator Light

I have a 05 Tahoe LS 4X4. I noticed that on the dash gauge cluster, there is a pictue symbol for four wheel drive. According to the owners manual, the symbol lights up when "placing vehicle in 4X4 manually". It does not light up when I push the 4X4 auto, high, or low buttons. I guess they had this illuminate for vehicles with a manual shift lever to let you know if you were in four wheel drive. I would like this to light when I push my 4x4 buttons. Does anyone know how I could wire this to come on with my buttons? I like having another indicator letting me know when I'm in 4X4 mode. Thanks!

I would also like to know if this is possible, in my '07 NBS the tiny indicator lights on the AutoTrac knob are very hard to see from the driver's standpoint.

Last month I accidentally drove over 50 miles in '4x4 HI' after having taken my truck to the car wash (the guy who washed it probably wiped my dashboard and flipped the AutoTrac knob by accident).
