Vss Wire 2007 Silverado

Recommended Posts

I purchased and installed a factory OEM navigation unit for my 2007 Silverado. It came with an VSS wire harness (with extra video input). But, I have searched, and searched, and have not found any post where it is confirmed which wire to tap onto, and where. Some post for older models list using a wire under the steering wheel, others state to use a wire in the engine compartment!

So, can anyone confirm, where they wired their VSS wire on the NBS Silverado/Sierra? Thanks guys!

Ok, found the picture of the "Junction box"

But, I'm not sure where is that junction box? Looked under the drivers side foot well, and didn't see it.

You are going to have to go under the driver's side of the dash, locate the fuse block and unlock it from it's holder. Once the fuse block is rolled out awayfrom it's mount bracket, you can get to the back side of it and you will see the plugs in the photo above. Be aware, getting it out is a challenge. Take your time. Oh yeah, use the blue plug on the right. The left plug also has a green wire with the white tracer; but it is the wrong one.

Cool!! I found the block and wire. Got the Green w/ white stripe seperated from the bundle, and waiting for my buddy to bring over a splicer block to tap on to it!!

Thanks for the help Chad and Gary!!
