i'm looking at going from my 2002 8.1 2500hd to a 07 or 08 6.0. i want to get big block type power for towing my 9k lbs trailer. does magnacharger have a kit for this truck? do these trucks do ok with towing heavy loads and a supercharger? i take it you need to run premium?

Why not just get the DMax? The initial cost difference will probably be less than the cost of a supercharger, and it will get much better fuel economy, which will probably make up the difference for the price of fuel. And it'll have a warranty, and probably have much better longevity.

Yes you would need premium. I was told they have the supercharger but I couldn t find a installer who could also do the ecm tuning. Usually they do it all but maybe the tuning on the NBS are too new yet.

+1 And if you get a Dmax and tune it, it will outrun a gas 6.0 with a Magnacharger too. :flag:

im not much of a diesel guy. the new ones are nice but i do drive short trips at times in the winter (mn) and the diesels aren't really made for that. i've always like my 8.1. if that was stil an option i'd go that route. i think the new 6l90 trans is stout an can handle the supercharging. plus if i do get a slightly used truck they are WAY cheaper...those diesels seem to hold their value very well.
