4l60e Problems In Od

Recommended Posts

After doing quite a bit of reseach, I have read about the P1870 code, and the TCC valve or solenoid, forget what it is called. I was wondering if it is better to replace the whole valve body, put in an oversize valve from TransGo or Sonnax, or there is also a shift kit from TransGo. I am planning on replacing the trans this summer, but I'm commuting to college/work/play 7 days a week. The stupid TC dosent stay locked in OD, my tach jumps up and down, about 4-500rpm. :) I shift down into 3rd, and its fine. So can anyone give me a ballpark figure of what to expect to pay for these fixes installed by a local shop?

1. Valve body

2. New oversize valve

3. TransGo shift kit

also, I am planning on replacing with this trans, or something like it this summer:

oh yeah 1998 GMC Jimmy 4.3L 4x4, 4l60e, with 107,XXX miles :D

Also, Ive heard it can be the brakelight switch, where is this so I can check it? How can I check it?

Brake light switch is usually on the steering column down by the brake pedel. My 93 Suburban with the 4L60E has torque converter shudder. It will shudder under load at steady throttle in OD. I ordered a new TCC solenoid and will replace it once I get it to see if that fixes the problem.
